Eleven years ago, my left knee needed attention: I researched appropriately and found Mr Robert Marston with a solid specialism in Orthopaedics, together with well documented experience in remedial surgery. A helpful and clear discussion was followed by arthroscopy surgery. This provided my overworked knee with many years of relief. By 2019 it was time to seek advice again: I undertook further research and gained unsolicited recommendations. A return visit to Mr Marston for his expertise was without doubt. Again, clear information, with no surprises. This resulted in a successful total left knee replacement in November. However, this highlighted the cumulative strain on my right knee and in November 2020, that too underwent successful total knee replacement. Trust is the most important factor when considering any surgery and these outcomes have provided truly positive, life enriching benefits. Joanna Lloyd-Davies

From the moment I met Mr Marston to my recent 10 year check up, I have loved his style, always making me feel at ease. I have had both hips replaced, and continued my active lifestyle running the Marathon des Sables in the Sahara Desert and summiting Mount Everest aged 53, with both hips getting me up and down without a single problem. Vote Mr Marston, he rocks.

I went from considerable pain, even when walking, to resuming my badminton, rock scrambling & gardening. Mr Marston was particular about finding the right solution for me (a partial knee replacement) and his attention to detail is second to none. Thank you.” Tim Huband

I accompanied my father to a Consultation with Mr Marston to discuss and explore options for his long-standing knee condition. My father had previously been to see other Orthopaedic Specialists and felt uneasy, anxious and not listened to.
However he came away from Mr Marston’s Consultation feeling truly heard, understood, and considered as a human. Mr Marston put my father at ease explaining his options and the potential risks, whilst listening to him and exploring what my father wanted from the rest of his life.
We came away reassured and are both very grateful to Mr Marston and his team who went out of their way to make the preparations, arranged for X-rays taken elsewhere to be available for the Consultation, and for their understanding along the way.
My father felt cared for in a very special way. Andrew Berkley

Dear Barbara,
Thank you so much for arranging for Mr Marston to call me yesterday. It was such a relief to hear from him, and my results were better than I expected.
Please can you pass my thanks to him, his approach to my medical care was absolutely spotless, he was focussed on a person and not diagnosis, very clear and reassuring throughout.
I would highly recommend anyone with knee problems to get in touch with you,
Best wishes

Hello Mr Martson,
My son and I wanted to thank you so much for all you have done to prepare my way forward for a possible full knee replacement.
I appreciate the expertise and time you have spent in ensuring that I understand why this is necessary.
Thank you so much for getting your Consultation Letter out to me so rapidly, so that I have all the documentation (plus your previous letter) and scan discs, necessary for my Friday appointment with my doctor.
I regret that I can't have the operation at the King Edward VII's hospital but I have greatly appreciated the very detailed and careful analysis of the condition making me feel more confident about the future operation.
Thank you so much for all your excellent support and help.

I received absolutely first-rate, excellent care from Mr. Marston and his support team. The diagnosis was swift and decisive, the arthroscopy procedure booked and took place a few weeks later. The entire experience of the procedure itself was utterly professional yet also kind and empathetic. I was discharged the same day and, within only a few days, was very mobile. There was no pain at all, and I received comprehensive advice on how to manage my recovery. I made what can only be described as a complete return to normal mobility within 2 weeks. I could not be happier with the end result and the entire experience.

These are things I shall remember forever with the deepest gratitude.

Dear Barbara,
I would like to say how efficient and nice you have been in your dealings with me. Furthermore, following my meeting with Mr. Marston, I have to say what such a nice person he is. He was so well informed about my possible problems with my hips and I have every confidence in him.
Thank you both
Best wishes
